The area has thus become the first-ever UNESCO World Natural Heritage in the Alps. After a long journey, we have at last reached our destination. Our incomparable Alpine landscape has been awarded the equivalent of a "Nobel Prize for Nature". This of course brings responsibilities. Guidelines for the management of the World Heritage site are being drawn up. However it is also a great touristic opportunity. The Jungfrau Railway enables us to transport visitors to the heart of our World Natural Heritage in an environmentally-friendly way. The label "World Natural Heritage" is an international seal of quality, confirming the unique scenic splendour of the Jungfrau-Aletsch region.
